“I Need Thee Every Hour” for National Day of Prayer. We all want control as individuals and as a nation. Sometimes we feel as though we are self sufficient and we don’t need the Lord. Whether we realize it or not, we not only need the Lord every hour, we can’t even walk without Him.
I’m so thankful for some positive things that are taking place at First Baptist Church in Liberty. First I’m thankful that this past Sunday we had the most in Sunday school since I began as pastor. I truly believe that a strong Sunday school is vital for any church and I pray that we can continue to see a growing trend. Also I’m thankful that we’ll be adding a youth Sunday school class thanks to a willing heart to teach our middle school students! This additional youth class is needed in order for our students to enjoy a better age appropriate environment. I’m looking forward to our Sunday School High Attendance Day on April 6th, and I ask you to join me in praying for this important emphasis!
Next I’m thankful for our Friday Family Fun Nights which gets better and better with each one! This last Family Fun Night we had a good representation of each age group including the “Young at Heart” interacting with the kids! Also, there were a great number of students who attended and it was good to see them enjoy being together. Above all it did my heart good to know that we “redeemed the time” with this opportunity when the Word was shared during our devotion time! I appreciate those who contribute each time to make this such a wonderful event!
This week we not only had the most in Sunday school since I’ve been here, but we also had the most on Wednesday night! I’ve enjoyed our Worship services and our midweek Prayer Meeting and Bible Study times! May our service times be an enthusiastic time of expectation as we grow together spiritually by letting God work in our hearts! I believe good things are happening at First Baptist and I pray that it’ll continue for the glory of God! Let’s keep pressing on in Jesus name!
Love in Christ,
